Spartans Win Third Consecutive Regional Championship Updated: May 31, 2005 The Spartans completed a strong 2005 spring campaign, posting an overall record of 29-8.  St. Francis was ranked in the Top 5 in the Chicago Sun-Times Class A baseball poll for most of the season.  The Spartans captured their third consecutive IHSA Class A regional championship by defeating Wheaton Academy (10-0) and Aurora Christian (13-1).  The 2005 squad was led by senior captains Jason Jamnik, Brett Maloney and Mike Minor.  The Suburban Catholic Conference (SCC) recognized John Connolly, Vince Loizzo, Brett Maloney, and James Schwark as All-Conference players.  Maloney was also named SCC Player of the Year, an honor he shares with Bill Bulaga of Marian Central Catholic. The Baseball Honors Night will be Monday, June 6th at Klein Creek Country Club at 7:00 PM.  All players / all levels are expected to attend.
